Every Minnesota winter, I watched the same thing happen. Customers pulled into our St. Paul shop with floor mats crusted white, carpets stiff with salt, and boots that had left a trail of damage behind them. Most products on the shelf could hide the problem for a few days. Very few actually solved it.

My name is Rayon King, and I’ve spent 10 years in auto detailing, most recently as the owner of SteamClean Auto Cleaning & Detailing in St. Paul. But my path to SaltMelt Pro started long before the detailing shop. My background is in science and chemistry, and I’m a Registered Sanitarian, a profession built on understanding how contaminants behave, how surfaces get clean, and how to do it safely. That training shapes how I look at every stain: not just what it is, but why it’s there and what will actually break it down.

Road salt is a chemistry problem. When it dries, it bonds into carpet fibers and leaves the white residue every Minnesotan knows too well. So I approached it like one. Working alongside a professional chemist, I developed and tested formulas in real detailing conditions, on real vehicles and real winter damage, until they did what I needed them to do. The result is two products that work as a team: the Salt Residue Remover dissolves the salt, and the Carpet & Mat Protectant helps keep it from coming back.
